Detroit Wayne County Health Authority

The Detroit Wayne County Health Authority, or Authority Health, is a public body corporate that was created by the State of Michigan, Wayne County, and City of Detroit to support the public health infrastructure and create a community health network. It serves as the nexus for the various components that comprise the health community that otherwise are not naturally linked. The mission of Authority Health is to coordinate efforts to meet the health needs of the uninsured and underinsured residents of the City of Detroit and Wayne County by assuring access and improving the health status of all people.

Through a coordination of community health resources, collaborative initiatives, and a learning environment, Authority Health offers the community a place through which innovative solutions for population health can thrive.
